Wilma Meagher

Wilma L. Meagher (80) of St. Louis, formerly of Centralia, died February 22, 2017 at Barnes-Jewish Hospital.

She was born April 2, 1936, in West Salem, Illinois the daughter of Parley Alva and Tressie Sophia (Knachmuhs) Bunting. She was married to Leo E. Meagher on March 17, 1958 in Salem and he preceded her in death. She was preceded in death by her brother Floyd Bunting.

Mrs. Meagher is survived by a son, Dr. Michael Meagher of Rolla, MO, her great aunt Mabel Hossel of Olney, Illinois, several nieces and nephews and cousins.

She was a devoted wife and mother.

She had a lifelong love of dogs. She never met a dog she didn’t like. In her later years, he was devoted to a corgi named Tilly, and talked about her all the time.

She was a former employee of Fredman Brothers’ Funiture and Golde’s Department Store in Centralia. She was a graduate of the Centralia School of Cosmetology. She was of the Christian faith.
