Tivus “Bud” Walker

August 11, 1923 ~ September 30, 2017

Tivus Walker, “Bud” and “PaPa Bud” to those that knew him, passed peacefully Saturday, September 30, 2017 at the age of 94. He was surrounded by several of his loving family members. Bud was a loving husband of 60 years to Laverne M. (Sunder) Walker who passed in 2001. His daughter Valerie (Walker) Shupe passed in 2013. Bud is the last surviving member of his siblings, losing his sister Mildred (Walker) Adams just a month ago at the age of 96.

Bud leaves his loving daughter Celeste (Walker) Prinz, and son-in-law Ralph Prinz. Bud was blessed with 4 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.

He was born in Hannibal MO in 1923. He served his country during WWII as a “Machinist’s Mate” in the USA Navy. He worked prior to the war as a Tool & Die Maker and then several other machinists and procurement positions after the war. Bud enjoyed his years as a square dance caller and instructor in the 50’s and early 60’s and he continued to dance into his late 80’s! He moved to Florida in 1969, his dream coming true, and retired there as Vice President of General Manufacturing Incorporated.

He will always be remembered for his funny jokes and stories and his supreme ability to “fix” anything! We will never forget the love and kindness he gave to everyone. Bud will be missed by so many.

Celebration of life and Honor Guard tribute will be held at Jefferson Barracks, St. Louis, MO. Both he and his wife Laverne Sunder Walker will be joined in their final interment October 13, 2017.
