Thomas M. Ranum

Thomas Maurice Ranum passed away on Tuesday, February 13, 2018, at the age of 76. He had been residing in Saint Charles, MO at the time of his passing.

Tom was born on June 5, 1941, in Madison, Wisconsin to Maurice and Evelyn Ranum (both deceased). He is survived by his two sisters Joyce and Jean… Four sons Christopher, Matthew (Cheryl), Thomas, and Benjamin Ranum… And three Grandchildren Kelsey, Eric, and Brooke.

He grew up outside of Madison, and attended Perry Lutheran Church in Daleyville. Upon graduating from High School, Tom enlisted in the Navy during the Vietnam War proudly serving his country. After that, he worked at Oscar Meyer Foods, owned a Tax Service company, Disney, and was also a Realtor. He married Diane Kahl (deceased, 1984) in which they adopted Chris and Matt. He later remarried to Pamela Yadon (deceased, 2007) and had Thomas and Ben. Spending time with family was always important to Tom, whether it was having fun on vacations to Florida or supporting the kids in activities.

His greatest passions outside of family were the Wisconsin Badgers and Disney/Mickey Mouse. When it came to Wisconsin, he was an avid fan of all sports, and was always a topic of conversation. He was a football season ticket holder for 30+ years and rarely missed a game, braving the elements to cheer on his Badgers. With Disney, his collectibles of all kinds were always proudly displayed. Traveling to the ‘Happiest Place on Earth” was his favorite thing to do, and was his home away from home. His favorite line that he would always say is “I’m Mickey’s best friend, Goofy,” and would always put a smile on someone’s face.

Tom will truly be missed for his constant love, happiness and outgoing personality towards everyone. If you would like to celebrate his life with us, service arrangements are as follows:
