He was the dear son of the late Margaret LaVern and James Douglas Barnett, loving husband of Janie Barnett, beloved father of Christopher Barnett, Dawn Carlyon (Jon), Christopher Foskin, and Jeremiah Barnett (Katy), adored grandfather of Rory Carlyon and Reid Carlyon, dear brother to the late Barbara Chase (late Joe) and Michael Barnett.
Tom served in the United States Navy for ten years from 1969 to 1979 achieving the rank of Aviation Electrician’s Mate First Class.
Tom worked for Weisler and Associates, Inc. from 1991 until his death. He served as the president of Weisler since 2002. He was well respected as a business professional and battery expert.
He was a fan of auto racing, cars, and collecting racing memorabilia. In his free time Tom loved reading, cooking, and baking (and had a little known talent for cake decorating). Most of all he loved spending time with his family.
Tom will be remembered as a loving and hardworking family man who tried to take care of everyone. He will also be remembered for his friendly nature and great sense of humor. He made friends everywhere he went.
Tom was loved by many people. He will be greatly missed.
Burial to be held Monday 3/18/19 11:30 am at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery
