Sadie Trunfio

Sadie Trunfio, 95, passed away on Monday, March 12, 2018. Born in the Bronx, New York, to her parents Concetta and Giovanni Intile, and formerly of New Jersey, Sadie lived in St. Louis, MO for the past five years, close to her daughter Ginger Marcus and loving son-in-law Marvin Marcus. Devoted mother of three other children and their spouses—Ceil Sanow (Trunfio) and Ray Sanow, Richard Trunfio and Diane Trunfio (nee Olive ) and Michael Trunfio and Eija Suomalainen. Loving grandmother of Ali Trunfio, Daniel and Steven Marcus. Sadie was predeceased by Frank Trunfio, her husband of 59 years, and her brother Joseph Intile.

Sadie was a feisty lady with a quick sense of humor that endeared her to others. She worked as a bookkeeper most of her life. She loved her family dearly, her job, playing cards, and she was a fabulous Italian cook. She will be sorely missed and always in our hearts.

A memorial Mass will be held in mid-April at the Our Lady of Good Counsel Church in Washington Township, NJ. Donations may be made in Sadie’s name to the American Cancer Society (https://www.cancer.org/involved/donate.html)

My mother, Phyllis McKenzie, and I are deeply saddened by your unexpected loss of Sadie. My mom and Sadie became fast friends at McKnight Place and we both enjoyed her company! We are relieved that she did not suffer. Our sympathies go to your entire family! Cynthia Akos
