Robert A. Dodson

Robert A. Dodson passed away on Wednesday, October 12, 2016, at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri, finally succumbing to his battle with liver cancer.

Bob was born in St. Louis, Missouri on December 11, 1954. He was the youngest of the 3 children born to James Harold Dodson and Daisy Katherine Dodson (nee Gray). Bob grew up in the north St. Louis County area with his family and graduated high school at Riverview Gardens. Later in life he moved in with his sister Dorothy and helped take care of her and her home. In his leisure time, he liked watching football and sometimes baseball games. He was a very loving and supportive brother, uncle and great-uncle (and great-great uncle).

He leaves behind to mourn his loss; two sisters, Dorothy Boyer and Sue Dodson; his nieces and nephews, James Boyer (partner Sarah Groves), Tina Mehlow (husband Russell), David Wilson and Andria Abate (husband Ken); great-nieces and nephews, Daniel and April Groves and Zach, Tyler and Josh Dillon; great-great nieces and nephews, Zachary, McKinsey, Christopher and Nicholas Groves; his dear friends Mike, Kit, Dana and Jane. He was preceded in death by both parents and a great-nephew, Jerry Groves.

Per Bob’s wishes, services for him will be small and private.

Blessings, peace and my heartfelt condolences to the family and friends of “Bob” from me and my family. You’d always say “Poof! I’m a frog!” trying to make me smile. Back at ya, buddy. See you one day on that big lily pad in the sky.
