Michael T. Collins

Michael T. Collins was born in St. Louis, MO to the late Woodrow and Margaret Collins on June 24, 1947. He passed away peacefully at the deGreeff Hospice House on Sunday, May 24th, 2015 with his loving family by his side.

He leaves behind his beloved wife Lynn Collins (nee Hawkins, Lehmuth) and his dear children Michael (Melissa) Collins, Colleen (Phil) Liefeld and stepson Rich Lehmuth. He was a proud grandfather to Clayton Liefeld, brother of Judith Rodell, Linda (John) Klym, Kathy (Tom) Zykan, Margaret (Ed) Case, Debbie (Rob) Taylor and Laura (Jim) Peterson and brother-in-law of Sandra (Dale) Bailey, Terry (Jackie) Hawkins and Sharon (Dave) Rootz; beloved uncle of 26, great-uncle of 42, great-great uncle of 3 and a dear friend to many lucky people.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his 1st wife Judith K. Collins, his siblings James (Mary Jo) Collins, Thomas (Donna) Collins and Dennis Collins.

Michael was a Pipefitter with Local #562 Plumbers & Pipefitters and served in the US Navy. He was an auxiliary member of VFW Post #2593.

A Memorial Mass will be held for him at St. David Catholic Church, 2334 Tenbrook Rd., Arnold MO 63010 on Monday, June 1st, 2015 beginning at 9:30 am with a burial following at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery at 11:00 am with full military honors. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the American Cancer Society, DeGreeff Hospice House or VFW Post #2593, Arnold, MO.
