Mary Ellen Hively, nee Riley, passed away Wednesday, May 08, at West County Care Center. She passed peacefully in her sleep at West County Care Center. She was born to Martin James Riley and Marie Irma Riley (Stuckenschneider) on April 1, 1940. She was preceded in death by her brother Martin James Riley, Jr, her sister Rose Marie Perkins (Riley) and her nephew Brady Perkins.

She is survived by her daughter Michelle Marie Adams (Hively), her son in law Mark Vincent Adams, her grandchildren Timothy William Adams, Heather Marie Adams (Gilson), Thomas Richard Adams, her great grandchildren Ava Marie Gilson and Finn Edward Adams.

She was a long time member of Local 655 and worked most of her career for National Super Markets.

An Irish wake will be held on Sunday, May 26, 2019 from 12:30pm until 4pm at Irish Corner Pub. The Pub is located at Cherokee and Lemp at 1900 Cherokee Street. Mary’s loved her Irish Grandmother and had fond memories of her trip to Ireland. Her wish was to have a celebration of her life with music, food and family.

The family would like to personally thank the staff of Vitas Hospice Care and West County Care Center.

In lieu of flowers, please donate to the Shriners Hospital at 4400 Clayton Avenue, Saint Louis MO 63110. It was her desire to give back to the hospital that helped her brother in his youth and would not accept payment.
