Marsha L. Jacobs

Marsha Lynn Jacobs June 27, 1949 – May 12, 2019

On June 27, 1949, God gave a blessing to the world. On May 12, 2019, God took his angel home. To count the number of people that Marsha Lynn Jacobs has touched would be impossible. Her effect is much like the ripples of the ocean. Her presence was large and commanding. She took hold of a room the way no one else could. Most everyone who met her considered her a mother because her nurturing soul made us all feel comforted.

Marsha Jacobs was preceded in death by her adoring husband, Clifford Jacobs. July 3, 2019, will be their 50th anniversary. Their children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren pray that there will be a celebration of epic proportions for them in Heaven. They deserve it.

Marsha is survived by her six children, Alicia Finder (Eddie), Dawn Jacobs-Rodgers (Al), Wendy Jacobs, Sara Radake (Chris), George Jacobs, and Natalie Jacobs (Mark). She was blessed with nine grandchildren, Emalie (Jeremy), Eddie, Alex, Cassie (Kody), Natasha (Alex), Dominic, Josie, Hayden, and Olivia. The love only continued with her great-grandchild Chloe, Evelyn, Aubrey, Joelle, and soon to be Oliver.

Marsha spent her life caring for others, from raising her siblings to countless children she has nannied over the years. The task of listing every person she touched would be never-ending. Her love is truly magnificent. We are all blessed to have been touched by this angel that God lent to us.

The only comfort the family can offer is that she is back with the love of her life and that the God she so fiercely loved is taking care of her now. She deserves the break. Although, if we had to guess she is likely already volunteering to take care of any Heavenly Nursery that may exist.

When Marsha was a child, she wanted to be one of two things when she grew up, a nun or a mother. She chose the path of motherhood, and she loved every second of it. Her mothering nature spilled over from her children to friends and friends of friends. Her grandchildren’s friends often called her grandma as well. She closed her door to no man. The best way to honor her would be to open your hearts and love one another every second of every day.

Her sudden death has shaken the world, but it is no surprise that she left this Earth on Mother’s Day for a reason. She has reminded us all that there is no love like a mother’s, no touch like a mother’s, and no easy explanation when our mothers move on to the next world. Marsha was a mother to every person she met. Remember to honor and love the mothers in your life.

In lieu of flowers, we ask you to make a donation in Marsha’s name to The Boys and Girl’s Club of Greater St. Louis. She loved taking care of children, and this is the best way we believe to honor her legacy. Details can be found at https://www.bgcstl.org/donate/

A Celebration of Marsha’s Life and Legacy is forthcoming. The family will contact everyone at a later date for this celebration. Any questions can be sent to her granddaughter Emalie @ emalie.jacobs@gmail.com

Alicia, I know there are no words that can take away the hurt. I did not know your Mom but I know you. She raised a wonderful daughter and you all have a beautiful caring family. I will be thinking and praying for you.

It is with great sorrow that I am sending my condolences on your recent loss. As one of Jehovah’s Witnesses, I and would like to share a scripture that has benefited me and many people in time of grief. God reassures us of something wonderful in the Bible at Acts 24:15. It says, “There is going to be a resurrection.” Along with God’s promise to us at Revelation 21:3, 4 of sorrow, death, and pain being done away with permanently.

It is my hope that this bit of information is of comfort to you. Please be sure to find further information regarding the resurrection at: JW.ORG

    May God be with you.
