Margie Leota Carnahan

On February 8, 2018, Margie Leota Carnahan passed away at Barnes St. Peter’s Hospital, St. Peter Missouri, after a brief illness. She was 83 years old.

She passed away with all of her children as well as other family members by her side, showing their concern and love for her.

She was born in Carroll County AR. Married Jim Carnahan, February 12th, 1951. She owned several businesses including a restaurant and children s clothing store. She had a home day care, drove a school bus, work as a home health provider and well in to her 70’s she ran a residential care facility in her home taking care of the sick and elderly.

We all have stories about her strength and compassion but one of her greatest testaments would’ve been that of caregiver, not only to her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, her husband, father and numerous elderly family members but those that weren’t family members that she embraced into her family.

She has shown all of us what compassion, charity and what living in God’s word looks like.

She is survived by her 4 children, Teresa Carnahan, James Carnahan, Mark Carnahan and his wife Tina Carnahan, David Carnahan and his wife Dianne Carnahan. 5 Grandchildren Michelle Grimmer and her husband Ryan Grimmer, Jennifer Donini and her husband Tony Donini, David Carnahan and his wife Katie Carnahan, Amanda Carnahan and Amy Carnahan. 5 Great Grandchildren Joel Grimmer, Hannah Grimmer, Riley Schmidt, Lizzie Carnahan and Ellie Carnahan. Her siblings, Virginia Phillips, Gary Whiteley, Dusty Whiteley and Mary Beams. As well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. She was proceeded in death by her husband Jim Carnahan, her sister Wynona King, her brother Bill Whiteley, her mother and father Minnie and Monroe Whiteley.

It’s her time to rest in the arms of our Lord.

A Celebration of Margie Leota Carnahan’s Life will be held February 24th, 2018 at 2:30PM at Renaud Spirit Center, 2650 Tri Sports Circle, O’Fallon, MO 63368. Family and Friends are welcome to share memories, poems, songs and/or verses during this service. Food will be provided to all in attendance.

    I love you Aunt Leota and you will be greatly missed hug and kiss my Daddy and Mama for me …may all find comfort in the thought you are not in pain anymore but that you were welcomed with love …
