Gregory A. Ward

Gregory A. Ward of Hillsboro, MO died peacefully in his sleep after a brief fight with melanoma cancer on January 15, 2019. Greg was born on March 14, 1960 in St. Louis, MO to Earl and Nancy Ward.
He loved to fish, work on cars and was a big history buff. He was also a huge St. Louis Blues and Cardinal Fan. Greg selflessly helped others, often putting their needs above his own. He was an inspiration to all who knew him. He even found ways to laugh and joke after his devastating news of cancer. His final wishes were that everyone would remember to wear sunscreen and visit their dermatologist on a regular basis.
Greg is preceded in death by his parents Earl and Nancy Ward and father-in-law, J. Harold Grigg. He is survived by his beloved wife Patti Grigg Ward of 31 years, and siblings Cynthia Ward Raspberry (James), Steve Ward, and Suzanne Ward Johns (Tony); loving mother-in-law, Ann Grigg; brothers and sisters-in-laws Greg Grigg (Christy), Vicki Grigg Proffer (Pete), David Grigg (Teri) and Elizabeth Grigg Felsen. He was a loving Uncle to many nieces and nephews.
The Family would like to thank the doctors and staff at Mercy Hospital South for their kindness and care and to the doctors and staff at deGreeff Hospice House for their compassionate care during these difficult days.
A Celebration of Life for Greg Ward will be held Sunday, January 27, 2019 from 2 to 4 p.m. at Kirkwood Inn Best Western Banquet Room. In Lieu of flowers, we ask that you donate to the deGreeff Hospice House in Greg Wards’ name at 10024 Kennerly Road, St. Louis MO 63128.
