Mary Jane I’m sorry to hear of Bob’s passing.
Back in 1955 Bob and I were room mates
In New York, one night he stumbled into
room bent over holding his stomach.
He said “I’ve been stabbed” and fell on
the floor. He scared the hell out of me.
He rolled over and laughed, he through it was funny. It was one of his better performances. In my opinion.

I was Lexi’s softball coach 25 or so years ago, and Bob rarely missed a game despite a very busy medical practice located 45 minutes away. Coaches remember the good fans, those who supported and encouraged the team. And Bob did exactly that with nary a bad thing to say! Bob’s example then defined who I came later to know professionally. RIP, Bob, and condolences to Mary Jean, Lexi, and all. Trish and Tom Walther

My sincere condolences to the family of Dr. Poetz. I was his patient when I was young. He delivered my first child. I then worked for him as a medical assistant. He encouraged my career as a nurse. I recently had the pleasure of working with his grandson, as a RN mentor. He was a very kind caring Dr. I will never forget my days working in his office, his inspiration and his humor. God Bless you all.

Our condolences to all who loved Dr. Poetz. We consider ourselves in that group. We were his patients for at least 40 years, as were our parents before us. He was much more than our doctor. He was a caring friend. It was not unusual to get a phone call from him when some health event was taking place. He will not be replaced in our hearts. God bless you all.

    Dear Lexi and family

Our thoughts and prayers are with all of you. Even though we never knew your Grandfather “Father” I know from our late night talks almost 3 years ago he was a wonderful man and meant so much to you and he was so dedicated to his patients and dearly loved his family. I know he had to have been so very proud of the person you are and how dedicated you are to your patients. I know he will be missed by so many and pray in time that all your wonderful memories of him will bring you peace and happiness.

Dr. Poetz was a friend of many, especially his Pharmaceutical Reps that serviced his offices. He always was very gracious with his time and was very interested in us helping his students/Residents in learning about our medications. I Truely appreciated your dedication to your patients and I know they did also. I will always remember Dr. Poetz’s yearly Christmas Party he held for his representatives. Happy Trails ! You will be missed.

Dr. Poetz was a long time customer of mine for 15+ years. He always made time for me, and all of the pharmaceutical reps despite his busy schedule. He was a wonderful teacher to us and so many medical professionals practicing today. How lucky I am to have known him! My thoughts and prayers are with his entire family and all those that loved him.

I was very sad to hear of the death of Dr. Poetz this week. I’ve reflected a lot about how my many years of working with him shaped the adult I’ve become. I started at the clinic while still in high school as a file clerk and as the years passed became receptionist then onto working as an assistant with him. He was the patient teacher always encouraging me to learn more and be the best I could be as a person. He taught me life skills that I use each and every day. His compassion towards those patients who didn’t have a lot of options for heath care was beyond measure. He was always willing to help those patients when other doctors wouldn’t take the time. Because of his example, I volunteer at our local hospital with the Palliative Care Program, offering comfort care to those with live changing illnesses.
He loved and adored his family. We were all a better person for having him in our lives. Thank you for sharing him with me. May Gods Peace with you all today and always.

My heartfelt condolences to Mrs. Robert Poetz and family. I am a pharmaceutical rep that had known and called on Dr. Poetz for 30 yrs. He was extremely generous with his time and was a “true” teaching physician to myself, all the pharmaceutical reps that called on him, and to all the medical students that trained under him. There was no other physician like him! His dedication, generosity of spirit, and love of medicine will always be remembered. May your memories bring you comfort and peace. I was certainly honored to have known him.

My name is Erin but I’m writing this for my grandmother who is named above. She’s now 80 and was a patient of Poetz for almost 30 years. They called each other birthday twins 1/7 and gained a close relationship over the years. Grandma has developed dementia but hasn’t forgotten her dear friend/doc/birthday twin… When I shared the news she cried… Our condolences

I just heard of Dr. Robert Poetz passing today in June. I sincerely am deeply saddened and heartbroken over his passing. He always had a smile on his face and always took time to ask about my day and how i been since my last visit. Dr. Poetz knew what was going on with me without me going into much detail, what esp3 was amazing and great about him was the calm and peace you felt every visit with him. He also had so much humor and we often laughed and joked about things. He is going to be truly missed, yet in his passing his legacy and greatness will forever live on. I love you Dr. Poetz and will never forget all you did for me and the happiness & healing you brought us all!!
