Dorothy (Dory) Rose Post

Dorothy (Dory) Rose Post (nee McCauley), age 85, died on Friday, June 1, 2018 at Manor Grove, a caring and loving community in Kirkwood, Missouri.

From her birth in New York, on December 28, 1932 to her death on Friday, she nourished people around her with love, great food, and conversation.

She was born to Helen (nee Lappin) and John McCauley and was the second of five children. Dory charmed everyone she met with her kindness and quick wit. She was generous and sincere. Dory married her late husband, David Post at Incarnation Catholic Church in New York. She lived in New York City and New Jersey, and then moved to Naperville, Illinois, then Ballwin, Missouri. Left to honor Dory and remember her love are her four children, David Post, Victoria (Buzz) Bazzoon, Gregory Post, and Peter Post; five grandchildren; Ray Brown, Timothy Brown, Jessica Post, Charles Post, and Jacqueline Post; three great-grandchildren: Ashley, Madelyn, and Morgan Brown; a sister and brother, Peter McGivney and Helen McGivney Glassman; and many nieces and nephews. Dory was preceded in death by her husband, David, her parents, brother, John McCauley, and sister, Roseann McGivney, and her son, Charles Post and grandson, DJ Brown. Dory will be remembered as a delightful and loving mother and grandmother, and a fierce advocate for children and adults with special needs.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, June 4th at 10 a.m. at Holy Infant Church, 627 Dennison Drive, Ballwin, Missouri, 63021. The Post family would like to extend our gratitude to all the staff at Manor Grove for their loving care in her final days.
