Donna Lee Bulback

Donna passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 14, 2018. She was born on October 14, 1946 to the late Michael and Marie (Murphy) Bulback. She was the spoiled sister of Don (the late Delores) Bulback and the late Delores Gardner. She was the best aunt to Debbie (Milton) Hardison, Sherry (Bill) Hibdon, Robert Engle, the late Steve Bulback, Cheri (Jim) Weatherford and Ponch (Becky) Koob. She was the best great aunt to Patrick, Ryan (Jen), Derek (Stacey) Hibdon, Adam and Ali Weatherford, Steven Bulback and Nicholas Koob.

Donna never got to meet her great great nieces and nephew (Brynlie, the late Charlotte, Elliot and the late Lily Hibdon), but we know she would have spoiled them rotten.

She did a great job spoiling all of her nieces and nephews, taking them everywhere with her, softball and volleyball games, bowling, drive-in-movies or just letting them spend the night at her house to play. She was constantly buying new things for them. She loved to buy odd new gadgets out of magazines or QVC. She bought keepsakes that brought smiles to all.

Donna worked as a legal secretary for Larry Brody for 33 years. Whenever Larry changed firms, she went with him. They had a special bond which she was extremely grateful for.

Donna had a love for life, she was always laughing and smiling, doing her best to make everyone around her happy. She loved animals, especially all of her dogs. She really enjoyed listening to music, she even got to see the Beatles at Busch Stadium in 1966. She loved to grow tomatoes every summer so that she could share them with others. She enjoyed her trips to Las Vegas with her friends and family.

Donna was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease at the very young age of 56. She was bound and determined not to let this ugly disease win. Shortly after her diagnosis, she decided that she wanted to donate her body to science so that others could try to learn more from this disease. She always wanted to help others and continues to do so even after her death. Donna gifted her body to Saint Louis University School of Medicine.

There will be a memorial mass at Nazareth Living Center, 2 Nazareth Lane, St. Louis, MO. 63129. Thursday June 21, 10:30am.

If desired, donations can be made in Donna’s memory to: Alzheimer’s Association or charity of one’s choice.

Donna was a great legal secretary and terrific friend to me for many years. She was especially fond of my three daughters – who would often visit the office – and always made special Christmas gifts with photographs which my wife would secretly smuggle to her. We will miss Donna. Please accept our most sincere condolences.

    Debbie,

My deepest condolences. You loved and cared for Aunt Donna with all your soul for so long. No doubt, she had a much better life after her diagnoses with your continued love and attention. All the days I saw you at Nazareth, coming in to spend the evening with Donna after a long day at the office. Your unwavering dedication to Donna was such a gift! Hoping you find some peace in knowing that Donna is now free from her human confines. Prayers and hugs to you and Milton. Ann

Donna was a special person who was a joy to work with at Bryan Cave. Always smiling and, from the video, Donna looks to have had a smile on her face til her passing; that’s just the kind of person she was! May God wrap His arms around the entire family and give you peace now and in the coming days. With Deepest Sympathy.

She had such a compassionate heart, a great smile and she could always make us laugh. Debbie you consistently showed your love for her in the way you took care of her and made sure her every need was met. Praying for strength and healing for all of you in this great loss. I would love to hear from you again. Also, thank you for the picture of us you included in the slide show. I would love to have a copy of it. Marcia

Peace to all those who love Donna! I had the joy of being with Donna at Nazareth Living Center for several years. My best memories of her are as a member of our Oakgate Community. Donna was often the one who brought laughter to the entire group of residents as we visited. She would join in on the singing; she would tell a joke or two; she was attentive to others in our group when they needed a smile or a hand. As time passed I would often just stop in her room to touch her hand, say a prayer with her, tell her I loved her. She was a gift to all.
