Dolores “Dee” York

Dolores “Dee” Louise (Howlett) York, October 15, 1937 – March 23, 2017
Dolores was born and raised in Quincy, IL where she also had her first job working for her grandfather Lorenzo Muffly at the soda counter of Muffly’s Sixth Avenue Drug Store. Dolores continued her entrepreneurial spirit by starting her own company Anchor Secretarial which she operated almost to the end.
Dolores passed peacefully at her daughter’s home with several loved ones around her.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband William McKinley York (7/30/2012). She was survived by 2 brothers and a sister (Jerry Howlett (Marie), Ted Howlett (Barb) and Sue (Howlett) McCune (Gerald). Mother to 5; Allan Dougherty (Libby), Kevin Dougherty (Diana), Shawn Dougherty (Lori), Lisa Stamulis and Kris Dougherty. She was also a grandmother to 15 (of which one, Maggie, passed before her) and Great grandmother to 8.
Memorial services will be April 22, 2017 at The Crossing, 114 N. Eatherton Road, Chesterfield, MO at 10:00am. Following will be a private family ceremony where her ashes will be interred next to her husband William “Bill” York at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery, 2900 Sheridan Rd., St. Louis, MO on April 22, 2017.
