David Francis Lunnemann

David Francis Lunnemann, 69, passed away peacefully Saturday, September 8th, at St. Anthony’s Medical Center surrounded by his family. David was preceded in death by his wife Kathleen Whalen Lunnemann, parents Henry J., Sr. and Frances R. Lunnemann, brother Henry J. Lunnemann, Jr., and brother-in-law Tony Niemeyer.

David is survived by his daughter Rosalyn Lunnemann Miller (Tim), grandchildren Dean and Audrey Miller, and sisters Janet Brandon, Suzanne Lunnemann, Kathryn Niemeyer, Cynthia Wasowski (Dan) and Judith Newell (Greg). David was a loving father, grandfather, brother, brother-in-law, step-father, uncle, cousin and friend.

David attended Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Grade School and Augustinian Academy High School. He graduated from St. Louis University with a B.S. in Accounting in 1971. He was a partner at Lunnemann & Co., CPAs until 1996 and then remained active as a CPA until recent years. David was always interested in learning and adventure! He attended Laclede Law School, became a licensed Real Estate Broker, Insurance Agent and private Pilot.

David served his country in the U.S. Navy from 1971-1973 on the USS Southerland and USS Leonard F. Mason, then continued as a Naval Reservist for an additional four years until 1977.

David remained active until his final days and still considered himself the great “Mitigator/Solver of Problems.” Please remember him fondly and keep him in your prayers. A special thanks to Delmar Gardens of Meramec Valley and St. Anthony’s Medical Center for their compassionate care.

Services: David donated his body to St. Louis University Medical School. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated on October 20th at 10:00 at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church.
