    David, to quote Spock…I have been and always shall be your friend…fair winds and following seas in the afterlife, my friend. I will always remember you. Best roommate I person could have, as well as a wonderful, kind and extremely intelligent friend. Next time I’m barbecuing in the dead of winter, and you ask what I’m doing, I’ll be sure to save some BBQ for you…I love you, man, and I’ll see you on the other side of eternity.

    Dave, We both met and became friends at ICS Diversified where you also met your wife Lisa. You introduced me to a bunch of great friends who all enjoyed playing cards, D&D and getting together. I will miss your humor, your wicked sarcasm, your vast imagination and most of all your friendship.

    Dear Dave,

    I miss you all the time. I know it may be non-traditional for a spouse to write a condolence, but I imagine, you may be feeling alone as well, even though I believe you are in the care of God. I think of you every day. Today I had pasta salad with my lunch and thought of how much you like pasta salad. When I drive the Dodge Dart, I think of how much you loved that car. When I go to bed at night and reach across the bed for you, I think of the many nights we had our private bed-room talks. When I cook a meal, I think of foods you would like. I was cleaning out some stuff in the basement and I saw your A+ Certificate. I remember how hard you studied and worked to get that certificate so you could improve your job qualifications.
    Dave, I think of how much courage and tenacity you showed with your battle with cancer. I was always proud and happy to be your wife and I know I will always remember you.
    Mimi, Smokey and Ingrid all say hi and that they miss you. Know that we are all safe and well, but just missing you.

    Love Always,

    Lisa

    Lisa,
    I am so sorry to hear of the passing of you dear husband. Though I only met Dave once, I was impressed with his courage, strength and kindness.
    My thoughts and prayers are with you during this incredibly difficult time.

    May the family find comfort and peace in Jesus Christ.
    Life’s Weaving
    life is but a weaving
    Between the Lord and Thee;
    We may not choose the colors–
    He knows what they should be.

    For He can view the pattern
    Upon the upper side
    While we see it only
    On this, the under side.

    Sometimes He weaves in sorrow,
    Which seems so strange to thee;
    But we must trust His judgment
    And work on faithfully.

    ‘Tis He who fills the shuttle,
    And He knows what is best;
    So we shall weave in earnest,
    And leave to Him the rest.

    Not ’til the loom is silent
    And the shuttles cease to fly
    Shall God unroll the canvas
    And explain the reason why.

    The dark threads are as needed
    In the Weaver’s skillful hand
    As the threads of gold and silver
    In the pattern He has planned.

    He knows, He loves, He cares;
    Nothing this truth can dim.
    He gives the very best to those
    Who leave the choice to Him.”

    My thoughts and prayers are with the family in this time of need. When we were younger we so wished we were grown-up. Now that we are it is not what we were hoping for . My child hood friends are dying at an alarming rate and that makes us all sad to see Davids name added to the list Rita Vance Speakes MRH class of 1977
