74, lost his battle with cancer on Wednesday, August 10, 2016, surrounded by his family and friends.
He is preceded in death by his father and mother, Orville E. and Josephine V. Burke and his sister, Diane.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 53 years, Sandra (Albritton) Burke, Loving father and father in law to Heather (Patrick) Anvender, Patrick (Julie) Burke, Shannon Burke and Timothy (Bridget) Burke.
Proud Papa of Courtney (Michael) Harriss, Elizabeth and Claire Anvender, Broderick and Harrison Burke, Keeley and Finnigan Barket and Michael, Patrick and Meghan Burke.
Special friend to his pot luck group and his “adopted” son, Alex Pokoski and dear friend of the family, Jeffrey Barket. He will be deeply missed by his dog and best friend, Charlie. Denny was a dear brother in law, uncle, cousin and friend to many.
He was a man who loved his family, holidays, vacations in Vegas and Cherokee Village, happy hours on the deck with Scotch and a cigarette in his hand. He lived his life with a feisty spirit.
A memorial mass will be held at St Margaret Mary Alacoque, 4900 Ringer Rd., Oakville, MO 63129, Monday, August 15th at 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers donations to Backstoppers or a charity of your choice is appreciated.

I will miss Denny. He was a friendly, fun, caring, generous man. He was a wonderful patriarch to his large family. I always looked forward to seeing him and he always welcomed me with a huge smile. I’m honored to be mentioned in this obituary. I thank his family for letting me see Denny so much in recent months. I believe he is resting peacefully.
