“Bill” William Rapp
William R. Rapp (Bill) passed away at St. Mary’s hospital, in St. Louis, on April 22nd, 2015 after a brief illness. Bill was born on Oct. 13, 1939 in Detroit Mich. Bill had made At. Louis his home for over 25 years. Anyone who came in contact with Bill will never forget his contagious smile, stubbornness, and sense of humor.
He is survived by his Son, Gordon (California) Daughter, Michelle (Florida) beloved grandchildren, Zac, Melodi, Hannah, Davey and Candy (California) Laney, Ethan, and Chaz (Florida), great grandsons, Conlee and Rielon (California) and many friends. He was loved by many and missed by all. No services are scheduled at this time, but we invite you to leave a condolence.
Dad, we will miss you terribly. I’m so happy we got to spend the last couple of weeks with you. Thank you for being so good to me and the kids for the past 30 years. Love you always……Denee
Bill was proud to have been born in Friday the Thirteenth, and told me that a lightning bolt struck very near his parents’ home which startled his mother and started the birth process. I met Bill in 1973 while working at a small hi-fi equipment shop when he brought in B&O audio gear to demonstrate to us. Bill’s emphasis was always on the music and the naturalness of the reproduced sound, not on the bells and whistles. He was a good teacher and mentor, and became a good friend.
So sorry to hear of Bill’s passing. I hung around with Bill in high school in Birmingham, MI. We both were interested in cars and worked on them together. Bill was a good friend and I lost track of him until a couple of years ago when I contacted him through classmates.com. I wrote a couple of paragraphs to him and received a three page letter from him updating me on a lot of his activities. He will be greatly missed.

So sorry to hear of the passing of Bill. I had numerous contact with him when I purchased a beautiful B&O turntable from him that he had reconditioned. He was so knowledgeable and excited to share his love of these wonderful machines. We also talked about other issues as I got to know him. Honest and dedicated, he will truly be missed! My condolence on the lose of such a special person.

Bill and Karen spent many wonderful hours and times with us in Colorado. My husband George was extremely close to Bill. He continued to phone me even after my George passed away several years ago. Bill and George would spend hours – usually well after midnight – on the phone solving the world’s problems. Starting at Howard Sound in both Boulder and Denver all the way through to Bang and Olufsen. We will certainly miss him. You have our condolences. He was certainlly a unique individual.

I am shocked to find out about Bill’s passing. I knew him for ten years or more and we would discuss everything from Gordie Howe to electronics to the Great Pyramid of Giza. I will miss those conversations very much.
Bill was an excellent skater and his love and knowledge of music was easily shared with others. He was proud of his children and spoke about them in most of our conversations.
