Alexandria Madison Kostial

Alexandria “Ally” Madison Kostial was born September 11, 1997 in St. Louis, MO. She passed on July 20, 2019 in Oxford, MS. Ally is survived by mom (Cindy), dad (Keith), brother (Andrew), grandfather (Donald Knapp), aunts (Patricia Shoffner and Kathleen Kelley), uncle (Jack Knapp), and cousins (Tim, Matt, and Kristi Kelley).

Ally was entering her senior year at Ole Miss in Oxford, MS with plans to graduate in the spring of 2020. She was a founding member of the Alpha Phi sorority and was the founder and president of the Ole Miss Golf Club. She was a member of the Alpha Kappa Psi business fraternity and taught fitness classes on campus.

Ally was a 2016 graduate of Lindbergh High School in St. Louis where she was active in cheerleading, track and field, Youth in Government, golf team, and the National Honor Society. Her sense of adventure brought her to Peru and Africa as a volunteer to teach English to young children.

Ally radiated love and light to all those around her. She loved animals, was a beloved babysitter, lifeguard, yoga enthusiast, and an accomplished half-marathon runner. Her sweet sparkle lives on through the lives she touched. She forever changed the world for the better.

In honor of Ally, take a moment to appreciate the natural beauty of a sunset or flowers like she did every day.

Services will be held at Concordia Kirkwood Lutheran Church at 505 S. Kirkwood Rd., St. Louis, MO 63122. Visitation Friday July 26th, 2019 from 4-8 pm. Funeral Service will be Saturday July 27th, 2019 at 10 am. Thoughts and prayers can be shared online below.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Ally’s Angels C/O Bank Star, 9717 Landmark Parkway, Suite #214, St. Louis, MO 63127

To Ally’s family: I am so sorry for your loss. I live in Rochester, NY and read about Ally. She was such a beautiful girl inside and outside. Although we were introduced at a young age, I had the pleasure of getting to know Ally better her freshman year at Ole Miss. We bonded about being from the same high school and traveling south for college. I loved her energy and how she would like up every room. This breaks my heart. I am sending so many prayers. I won’t be able to make the trip to St. Louis, but I am hoping and awaiting a service for her at the university. From your Lindbergh and Ole Miss family, fly high beautiful girl.

I am sending condolences to your family for the senseless loss of your daughter Ally. I have lived in St. Louis long enough to call it home. Prayers for peace. Ally was so beautiful and I know she is missed.

  89. Carol Lynn on April 7, 2023 at 3:15 am

I saw the 48 Hours documentary tonight regarding your precious, precious daughter Ally. I have an only daughter just 2 years older, and it wrenches my heart and soul for what you have endured.
Every picture of Ally portrays such light, eagerness for life, and hopefulness. She is so very lovely. She has the insight and sensitivity to deeply value the beauty of God’s handiwork as He washed His paintbrush across the sky every evening,
She valued it enough to document it in photos, and bring that beauty and delight to the attention of those who are moving too fast to recognize these simple and profound treasures that He gives.
I speak of Ally in the present tense, for her body simply fell away from her on that day, but her spirit does live on in heaven with God our Father. You will be reunited with her one day, as all of us who are believers in Christ will be united in heaven for eternity! That is our Great Hope in this world of sorrow.
It is Easter weekend! As Jesus Christ came, died for our sins, and rose again – conquering death –
so will all those who believe in Him rise up from death snd unite together again in heaven, where there will be no sorrow! I believe Ally awaits there.
May I leave you with these words of hope:
    I Corinthians 15:55-58
55 O death, where is your victory?
O death, where is your sting?”
56 For sin is the sting that results in death…
57 But thank God! He gives us victory over sin and death through our Lord Jesus Christ.
58 So, my dear brothers and sisters, be strong and immovable.
May God continue to carry your family in His loving arms until that glorious day when we meet Him, and you all are reunited with Ally once again.
