William A. Rose passed away peacefully at his home in Manchester, surrounded by his loved ones on the afternoon of November 16, 2014.

William was born in Ferndale, California on February 2, 1940 to the late William and Mamie Rose. He enlisted early in the U.S. Coast Guard and served actively in the Gulf Coast during the Cuban Missile Crisis. He later met and married his 1st wife Virginia, who preceded him in death.

He is survived by his loving wife Nancy Rose (nee Stevson); his beloved children Debbie (Bill) Lackner, Chrissy (Dale) Myers and Wendy (Chris) Buss; his step-children Laura Arcuri and Greg & Laura Dunn. He had one son, Billy, who also passed away before him. He was proud of his grandchildren; Kat, Lindsey, Andrew, Claire, Jeffrey, Jason, Kevin, Brookelynn and Rhiannon and his great-grandkids; Genesis and Kenneth. He was a great friend and mentor for many people.

During his life in St. Louis, he owned his own business, Rose Kitchen and Remodeling. He was an avid golfer and fisherman. He was also an active board member of the Family Resource Center and was part of the organization for over 30 years. He was proud of his work there and was glad to help with projects that benefitted children. Bill will be remembered most for his kindness and humor and his devotion to his family and friends.

Bill will be buried privately with honors at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Family Resource Center, 3309 S. Kingshighway Blvd., St. Louis MO 63139.
