Seumas Michael Dowling

Seumas Michael Dowling passed away peacefully on the morning of August 1, 2014 at his home.

Seumas was born on January 19, 1963 in St. Louis, Missouri to “Jack” John A. Dowling and Sheila Christina Dowling (nee Stephens).

He is survived by his beloved life partner of 15 plus years David Goodson; his father “Jack” John A. Dowling; his siblings Michaeleen (Lyn) Farley, John (the late Debbie) Dowling, Mary (Matt) Hurley, and his twin Stephen (Pamela) Dowling; his brother-in-law Mike (Cheryl) Burns; his nieces and nephews Luke & Evan Farley, Krystyna & John J. Dowling and Madeline, Gabrielle & Bridget Hurley; and a great-nephew Thomas Farley. He was preceded in death by his dear sister Sheila Burns and his mother Sheila Christina Dowling.

Before his illness, Seumas was a successful business owner, running his own custom frame shop for over 10 years. He was always a perfectionist, which made him good at anything he set his mind to. He was know for his comical antics and “out of this world” sense of humor. Seumas was never afraid to speak his mind to anyone, even someone he had just met! but this outspoken way he had was always balanced by his compassion, kindness, his giving spirit and sharing nature.

In honor of his memory and his love of animals, donations to Stray Rescue would be appreciated. www.strayrescue.org

I know for certain that we never lose the people we love, even to death. They continue to participate in every act, thought and decision we make. Their love leaves an indelible imprint in our memories. We find comfort in knowing that our lives have been enriched by having shared their love.

My thoughts and prayers go out to you Steve, David and the rest of your families and friends. I have thought about Seamus and you Steve often over the years. Especially on 1/19 because we were born on thesame day. I will treasure the memories of his personality, his laugh and smile. May The Holy Spirit bring you hope and comfort as I know Seamus is resting in the arms of Jesus.

If what I believe is true, Seamus is with the family and friends that have gone before us whom he loved and who loved him so much. There’s probably one hell of a party going on with him telling all the awful jokes and laughing with his maniac of a laugh. He is greatly missed.
