Dear Michael—I’m not sure how they met but she became a friendly connection for our son early in his Army career and she took him under her wing. His first Christmas @ Ft. Riley–Michael invited him to spend the day with her and her family and told him to come out anytime–he showed up @ 8 AM!! She embraced him as an adopted child–which meant a lot to THIS Momma! I had many conversations with Michael but regrettably she was a friend I never had a chance to meet. A truly generous soul who touched my life and I am grateful for that.

It is a sad day knowing that we lost you my dear friend,but there are so many good memories you are leaving behind. I am glad I had a chance to meet you through our great friend Nancy, and that you then become a part of my life.
