Larry Schneider, Sr.

Larry Gene Schneider was born December 22, 1952 to the late Richard Edd Schneider and Rosemary Margaret Schneider (nee McNail). He grew up and later lived in the south St. Louis area with his 13 brothers and sisters and attending the great Catholic Churches of St. Louis. He attended many Masses at St. Vincent’s Catholic Church with his family and was a member until he passed away. Later in life he met and married Mary Kay Schuller from the neighboring Soulard area. They had many happy years together. Larry spent most of his life driving trucks, both locally and long-haul. He loved to travel and knew so many things from all the places he had visited. It was almost impossible for him to get lost wherever he roamed. He also loved sports, and spent many hours watching football and baseball, cheering for his favorite teams, especially the St. Louis Cardinals. Larry was a friendly guy who really liked to talk. He would talk to anyone at any time and enjoyed doing it. Most people will remember him for his easy-going and friendly nature. He also loved animals and he and Mary Kay donated money every month to the A.S.P.C.A (the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals).

Larry passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by his loved ones on the evening of March 18, 2015. He is survived by his beloved wife Mary Kay Schneider; his adoring children – Jeffrey Schneider, Tracy Schneider and Larry Schneider Jr.; his dear grandchildren – Jennifer (Matthew) Gibson, Bayli Seay, Caden Schneider and Issabella Seay; his siblings – Carol (Denny) McKay, Richard (Manie) Schneider, Nancy (Carl) Adams, brother-in-law John Ayers, Gary Schneider; Rosemary (Grant) Williams, Mary DeMay, Deborah Schneider, Donald (Brenda) Choate; aunts & uncles, many (many) nieces and nephews, cousins, other relatives and many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, his sisters Suzanne Ayers and Donna Choate, his brothers Robert Schneider and Earl Schneider and sister-in-law “Nancy” Schneider.

Services: A viewing will be held at the chapel at St. Louis Cremation, 2135 Chouteau Ave., St. Louis, MO 63103 on Monday, March 23rd, 2015 from 1:00 – 4:00 p.m. Additionally, a Memorial Mass will be held for him at St. Vincent’s Catholic Church on Saturday, May 2nd, 2015. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the A.S.P.C.A. at www.aspca.org or to the church.

A limb has fallen from the family tree. I keep hearing a voice that says. Grieve not for me. Remember the best times, the laughter, the song. The good life I lived while I was strong.Continue my heritage. I’m counting on you.Keep smiling and surely the sun will shine through. My mind is at ease, my soul is at rest.Remembering all, how I truly was BLESSED.Continue traditions, no matter how small.Go on with your life, don.t worry about falls I miss you all dearly, so keep up your chin.Until the day comes we’re together again. I love you my brother Larry and you are in my heart forever. God Bless the Family.

I am sorry to hear of his passing. He was life time friends with my older siblings and I respected him for the way he respected and helped my mother. A good man all the way around.

so sorry to hear of Larry’s passing. He was a very friendly and caring person. I remember how kind he was each time Dewey and I would see him at Sue’s house or at a funeral (about the only time you see some friends). I also remember 30+ years ago, when we were moving, he came along with my brother in law John Ayers(he was helping us move that day) and Larry just volunteered his time to help us. What a big help he was to us that day and so kind as always. Please accept our condolences at this time, and rely on all the memories of your loved one, made throughout your life. Because of Deweys health, we cannot attend the funeral today, but please know our thoughts and prayers are with you Mary, his children, siblings and the entire famiy. Carrol and Dewey Ayers
